The following are the most commonly asked questions that grant seekers ask concerning the Newman Family Foundation and its funding policies and strategies.

Q. Are there specific dates that we may work towards for applying for a grant from the foundation?

No, the foundation reviews opportunities at various times throughout the year.

Q. How should we approach the foundation with a particular funding need or proposal?

The Newman Family Foundation funds a limited number of projects and organizations annually that fall within its mandate and scope of giving. The foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals.

Organizations and individuals may initiate a screening of a project online by filling out the online Project Intake Profile. All project intake profiles are reviewed by the Program Staff of the foundation and a decision is made based on the interest of the foundation in the proposed project as to whether to invite the grant seeker into a complete Grant Application Process.

Foundation program staff will not review unsolicited proposals that are received outside the online Project Intake Profile system.

All meetings with the Newman Family Foundation are set up through the Executive Director’s office and are initiated by the foundation once they have reviewed the Project Intake Profile and it has garnered the interest as a potential grant opportunity.
