Give a man a fish; you have fed
him for today. Teach a man to fish;
and you have fed him for a lifetime.

… Equip him to turn fishing into
a business and he may create an
economy that provides jobs and
an industry that gives people
dignity and feeds a village or
nation for a lifetime.

Empowerment is the breaking of destructive or nonproductive cycles and systems that prevent people from achieving the fullness of their potential. It imparts a conscious confidence in an individual, enabling them to partner with and trust God in the use of their abilities to provide for themselves and others.

The foundation seeks to invest strategic resources, that will provide people and communities with the knowledge, skill, belief and desire needed, to personally and corporately succeed in bettering their life situation and circumstances.

The NFF seeks to produce “a proprietorial spirit in individuals that infuses in them a sense of personal stake, property, and ownership in their life and activities.” We believe that, “Leading people into ownership is the key to their growth and success.” (Dennis Peacock, Doing Business God’s Way)

As such the foundation gravitates as often as possible toward giving that provides the seeds for empowering individuals and communities to ultimately be self-sustaining.

We seek to support the development of leaders and infrastructure needed for an individual or community to be free of crippling dependencies on ongoing outside sources. Seeding business on both a macro and micro level are key to the NFF granting strategy as it relates to empowerment and economic transformation.
